If you are a webmaster, your biggest fear is that the tools you use to create your website will become obsolete or unsupported.
One approach is to go back to basics and use tools and programming languages that are likely to continue to be supported for many years to come.
As it turns out, the HTML standard (ie. the low level webpage syntax that drives the internet) has evolved to be a pretty stable environment that can build very capable websites that meet all design requirements - if you keep it simple.
We've just 'simplified' our Lochaber Bay Cemetery website along these principles with the result being web pages that should render faster and, with a little HTML syntax knowledge, be alot easier to maintain in the future - for those with just a little bit of 'coding' background.
Can you really get away without running 'scripts'? Well no, we still need a relatively simple script to pre-process banners and menu bars. But this script will be alot easier to maintain in future years .. as compared to tools like Drupal and Wordpress which need constant upgrading.
We hope you enjoy this website and if you would like to know more about this 'Minimalist' website design approach, reach out to us with the 'Contact' menu item!
